Singapore at Night

Once I (Josh) finally got better after running my foot into a pole, we got the opportunity to go with a few new friends to "downtown" Singapore.

Lots of big buildings...

We went down to Marina Bay (which is a well known area that Singapore is particularly proud of). The waterfront and skyline were fun.

Along the way we managed to run into a random concert??

Us in Singapore!

The Marina Bay Sands is a fancy (and very very expensive) hotel that we had to pass through. Apparently sneaking up to the top floor of the hotel offers a good view, but you have to look like you know what you are doing. So we skipped that :-)

Behind the hotel is a very large park/gardens area. These are fake "trees" that are rather interesting. The middle one apparently had a restaurant up top (which we also did not visit).

More gardens at night.

And of course coffee with friends!

Something I had been meaning to get a picture of the whole time we were here is a photo of the signs on the subway that tell the fines you can get. I even found on prohibiting durians (which we never had except in ice cream form... it apparently smells horrible, like rotten meat or something).
Our Singaporean friends told us that Singpore is a "fine" city :-)
