Macro Monday: Treetop Bugs

When visiting another city where some friends of ours live I was able to get out and take a few pictures. Unfortunately I had a hard time finding a lot of things to photo, but in a few trees there were a few bugs that were pretty cool.

The first was a very colorful caterpillar, though perhaps not the cutest one I have ever seen.

The second wasn't actually alive but an exoskeleton shed by a cicada. This one is dedicated to Dad :-)

Macro Monday: Fern

This week's macro photos are from a small fern we saw outside our friend's house. It is always interesting trying to figure out how to photograph a small part of a much larger item and figure out how to take something not particularly eye-catching and shoot it from a different perspective.

Macro Monday - Not-as-Friendly Bugs

So I have two apologies to make. First is that I have been a slacker and have not gotten a macro post up in a while. Second is that for you bug haters out there, this post is NOT for you.

So this guy is not so scary, and there is a flower, awwww...

I personally think this guy (certainly not a girl) is pretty cool, though it looks a little like he is eating a mop (but the mop is actually part of his face).

This time he is eating a mop, and another bug.

If Pinocchio were a fly:

By far the coolest bug and coolest photo, in my opinion.

And a couple more:

Board Game Version 4!

For the past probably 2 years, I have been very slowly working on designing my own board game.
The first version of the game was admittedly not very good... not very fun to play. :-(
Version 2 was a significant step up and started to show potential.
By Version 3, the game became much more playable and visually appealing, though still was a little complicated in parts.
And now I am to Version 4 which is revamped, redesigned, and has an Asian theme! :-)

I was really excited to finally get it printed out (which was more difficult in China as I totally don't know how to do these type of things here. I can't just hop over to the local Kinko's).

But we have had a lot of fun playing it a couple times with friends.

Though, so far, neither Rachel or I have won...
