After much planning and preparations, we finally arrived in China last week! It is quite different in terms of weather than Singapore.
It has been pretty tiring as we adjust to many new things and try to survive without being able to yet understand the language. Right now we are staying temporarily in someone else's apartment while they are out of town, so we do not have pictures of our own place to show yet. Here are a few pictures of the local neighborhood.
The outside of where we are staying.
Being in new places of course means new tasty foods :-)
Normally I (Josh) greatly dislike eggplant, but they make an eggplant and green bean dish that is very tasty!
As it is a large city with many foreigners and tourists, it is not all strange... some of it is quite similar to the US.
We have not had Starbucks yet, but just in case, we know where to find it.
The "boys" are also doing well, though they have not gotten out quite as much. They currently think China is a very pink place. It is hard to classify this as "culture shock" though.
