A couple weeks ago Rachel and I took a walk to a nearby park to see if there were any signs of spring yet. As we approached the park's main gate, we saw some trees that looked like they were already blooming and we both got quite excited.
Upon closer inspection, however, we found that they were fake flowers tied on to the tree...
This is what the real flowers on that tree looked like at the time (notice wire in the background for fake flowers).
Though this was somewhat disappointing (through Rachel still thinks they added to the atmosphere) we did eventually find some real signs of spring. At least one type of bush was starting to bloom. :-)
Though there was not a lot growing yet it was still nice to walk around some. We noticed for the first time that many of the trees along the path had limbs that twisted in every direction (we think this is intentionally done, by pruning over several years, but we're not too sure).
Rachel was having fun taking these pictures of the funky branches as well as other things like fire hydrants...
And the occasional shot of me since I am usually on the other end of the camera.
Yay for spring!
