More pictures of the same dragonfly from last week. Taken at the Denver Botanic Gardens this August.
Hopefully you are not too creeped out by his buggy eyes. Look closely at the pictures and you can see that the dragonfly has a couple small eyes in the middle of its head between its larger compound eyes. According to wikipedia these are apparently called Dorsal ocelli.
Taken with a Canon T2i with the 18-55 mm kit lens mounted backward with a reversal ring and on the 55mm focal length.
