Forever Family

Over the past year and a half, some of our close friends have been working to adopt three beautiful girls out of foster care. Last week, we got to witness the finalization of the adoption, and it was amazing!

The girls were all dressed up for the occasion and super cute!

Mona is ten,

Mia is six,

and Jenette is four. :)

It was my(Rachel's) first time in a courtroom, and definitely probably one of the more fun things that ever happens in a courtroom. You could see the judge get happier as soon as their case started. And he did a great job!

The whole thing reminded me of a wedding ceremony... it was essentially a covenant of unconditional faithfulness. And actually a non-profit they've been working with, Project 1.27, gave them something just like that to fill out as a family.

Here's what it looked like up close (click to be able to read it):

In light of the responsibility the parents were taking on, the judge felt that the girls needed something to be responsible for, too.
Jenette picked out a hot pink lizard. :)

They're a family forever now!

We're going to miss this family a lot.
We love you, Wes, Felicia, Mona, Mia, and Jenette!
