In addition to connecting with many friends and exploring beautiful parts of Colorado (see previous post), we got to see a lot of my (Rachel's) family that we don't see very often, and revisit places I spent a lot of time as a child. It was wonderful!
We ate lunch with my Uncle Russ in Almont...
...Got a tour from Uncle Russ at the Pioneer Museum in Gunnison, especially highlighting things that used to be in my grandpa's drug store, including a Campbell's soup heater. Pretend I didn't touch it...
...Had a great barbecue with my Aunt Janet, Uncle Mike, and my cousins.
But forgot to take any pictures. :(
Ate pancakes on the streets of Salida with my Great Aunt Paula, as a part of the FIBArk Whitewater Festival...
...And gave Josh a tour of places that are important part of my family:
The road up to my grandma's old house in Gunnison, where my Aunt Jill taught me to ski and Mom watched anxiously from above (picture it with snow and me about 3 feet shorter).
The stores that my grandparents owned for many years as a gift shop (left) and pharmacy (fly shop) in Gunnison:
Here's what it looked like in the 60's-ish. :) It says "Lallier Pharmacy" on the black awning. When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be a tulip farmer (somewhat related to the Wiley family business) and run a gift shop to sell my tulips (somewhat related to the Lallier family business).
And the drug store my grandpa's younger brother, Uncle Wayne, still owns in Salida!
